What is a tap accuracy test?

A tap accuracy test measures how precisely you can hit small, moving targets on a touchscreen. Unlike a tap speed test โ€” which only cares how fast you can mash the screen โ€” an accuracy test rewards precision. Targets appear one at a time at random positions, shrink over their lifespan, and disappear if you don't tap them in time.

Your score is the number of targets you successfully hit in 30 seconds, and your accuracy percentage tells you how many of your taps actually landed. Tapping the screen and missing a target counts against you, so wild spam-tapping is penalised.

It's the mobile equivalent of an aim trainer โ€” built for thumbs instead of mice. The glitching terminal-style targets add a layer of visual noise that makes fixating on each target slightly harder, closer to the real experience of tracking targets in a fast-paced mobile game.

How to improve your tap accuracy

Be deliberate. Don't spam-tap in the general area of the target. Move your thumb to the target, then tap. Deliberate taps become fast taps with practice.

Use your thumb pad. The flat part of your thumb gives you a larger contact area and more control than the tip.

Hold your phone steady. A stable grip means the screen isn't moving relative to your thumb. Less movement means fewer misses.

Focus on the centre of each target. Targets shrink over time, so tapping the centre gives you the most margin for error as the target gets smaller.

Stay calm in the final seconds. As targets get smaller and faster, the temptation to panic-tap increases. Resist it. Accuracy matters more than speed here.

FAQ

What's the difference between tap speed and tap accuracy?

Tap speed measures raw tapping frequency โ€” how many taps per second you can produce. Tap accuracy measures precision โ€” whether your taps actually land on moving targets. You can have fast taps and terrible accuracy, or slow taps with perfect accuracy. The best players have both.

Why do the targets shrink?

Shrinking targets increase difficulty over the course of the test. Early targets are larger and easier to hit, letting you build momentum. As you accumulate hits, targets get smaller and disappear faster, testing your precision under pressure.

Does my phone affect my score?

Yes. Screen size, touch responsiveness, and display refresh rate all matter. Larger screens give you more room, higher refresh rates make animations smoother, and faster touch sampling helps register taps more accurately. That said, skill is the dominant factor.
