Introduction

CanYouClickIt.com is a product of Silly Games Lab (sillygameslab.com). We operate the free click speed, tap speed, and reaction tests at canyouclickit.com. This privacy policy explains how we handle information when you visit our site.

What data we collect

Can You Click It? requires no registration, no login, and no email address to use any of the tests. We do collect some limited data as described below.

Local data (stored on your device)

We use your browser's localStorage to save your test scores, personal best history, display preferences (such as desktop or mobile mode), and your leaderboard initials if you choose to submit a score. This data never leaves your device unless you submit a score to the leaderboard. You can clear this data at any time using the "Reset scores" option on the site, or by clearing your browser's site data.

Leaderboards

If you choose to submit a score to our leaderboards, we collect and store the following on our servers:

Your chosen 3-letter initials, your test score, the test category, the type of input used (mouse or touchscreen), and the time of submission. This data is stored on Cloudflare Workers KV and is visible to other visitors on the public leaderboard. Leaderboard submission is entirely optional — you can use all tests without submitting to the leaderboard.

Score analytics

When you submit a score to the leaderboard, we also log anonymous metadata about the submission to help us understand how our tests are used across different devices and countries. This includes:

Your device's operating system (e.g. iOS, Android, Windows), browser name (e.g. Chrome, Safari), device model where available from the browser, screen dimensions and pixel ratio, approximate country derived from your IP address by Cloudflare's network, and the test score and category.

We do not store your IP address. The country information is determined automatically by Cloudflare's network infrastructure at the point of the request and we never see or retain your actual IP address. This data is stored in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine and is automatically deleted after 90 days.

This aggregate device, country, and screen telemetry is used solely for internal site analytics and to support the functioning of the site (such as producing country-level performance comparisons and understanding which device classes our tests run well on). It is not used for behavioural or personalised advertising, is not used to contact users, and is not linked to any identifiable individual.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Because Can You Click It? is a general-audience site that may be used by children under 13, we have configured AdSense to serve non-personalised ads. Non-personalised ads use only limited information from the current viewing context (such as the page being viewed and broad location) to choose what to show. They do not use cookies or device identifiers to build a profile of you for advertising purposes, and they are not based on your past browsing behaviour.

Google may still set a limited number of cookies for purposes such as frequency capping, aggregated ad reporting, and combating fraud and abuse. For full detail on what Google collects in the non-personalised ads context, see Google's non-personalised ads documentation.

You can review and adjust Google's ad settings at adssettings.google.com, and opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.

Site analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. Cloudflare's analytics are privacy-friendly and do not use cookies or track individuals across sites. No personal data is collected or stored by this service.

Cookies

Can You Click It? does not set any cookies of its own. We use localStorage (which is not a cookie) to store your preferences and scores locally. Cookies may be set by Google AdSense for advertising purposes as described above. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Children's privacy (mixed audience)

Can You Click It? is a general-audience site, but we recognise that our content — particularly the click speed and reaction tests popular with Minecraft players — attracts some users under 13. We treat the site as a mixed audience under the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and have designed it with that in mind:

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the leaderboard initials, contact [email protected] and we will remove the entry.

Data retention

Your rights

You can clear all locally stored data at any time using the "Reset scores" option or your browser settings. If you would like a leaderboard score removed, please contact us at the email address below and we will remove it.
